Springfield Library:

You can join the library at any age and membership is free. You will then be able to use your library card in any library or mobile library in Wiltshire and access our eBook and online services.

Join online or visit the library with proof of your identity and current address. (If you are under 16 you will need an adult to act as a guarantor.)

You can borrow up to 12 items and books are free to borrow and you can hire DVDs, talking books and language courses. Requests for children’s materials are free, but there is a small charge for adult requests.

Opening times

Monday  9am to 7pm
Tuesday – Thursday 9am to 5pm
Friday   9am to 7pm
Saturday  9am to 5pm

Outside of these times you may still access the self-serve facility to return or renew items.

A huge range of books

We have a range of titles, best sellers and contemporary fiction, well-loved classics and information books covering every subject. We also have suggested reading lists and information on forthcoming titles.

eBooks

You can borrow up to 5 library eBooks for your computer, eBook reader or portable device. This service uses standard EPUB and PDF formats and cannot be used with Amazon’s Kindle devices.

Information and learning

We have a wealth of information about local services and facilities and spaces to study, read and relax. We have a collection of Wiltshire books, maps and information.

Online library services

Many of our service are available online for you to use at home as well as in the library.
From the library catalogue you can renew and reserve items and explore stock in all Wiltshire libraries. Wiltshire clubs and organisations contain contact information for a wealth of local groups and Wiltshire community history has historical information on every parish in the county. We have a wide range of online resources including newspapers, dictionaries, driving theory and citizenship test practise.

Internet access with bookable PCs and printing

Use of the computers is free and printing is available for a small charge. We also have free Wi-Fi and a photocopying service.

Children’s Services

Children receive a warm welcome at the library and they are never too young to join. We have books for babies, toddlers, new and confident readers and information books. Requests for children and teen books are free. We run rhyme times for under 4s, holiday activities and the popular Summer Reading Challenge. Find out more about our library events.

DVDs and talking books

You can hire DVDs, language courses and talking books on CD or in digital format with “playaways”, all at competitive rates.
